Syngonium Pink Spot Care

Syngonium Pink Spot Care | Care Guide | Plant Proper

Watering:

Syngoniums like their soil to stay lightly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. If your plant is thirsty, the leaves will start drooping. Overwatering can cause yellowing leaves and root rot, so be careful not to let it sit in water.

Light:

Syngonium Pink Spot thrives in bright, indirect light, but they can also tolerate lower light conditions. An east- or north-facing window is ideal or a north-facing window could be great too, if that isn’t possible, a south-facing window. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, leaving them brown and crispy. In lower light, your Syngonium Pink Spot might lose some of its vibrant color or grow slower, but it should still do fine.

General Care:

  • Fertilizing: Feed your Syngonium every 4-6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted fertilizer to encourage healthy growth.

  • Pest Control: Treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap if pests like spider mites or aphids appear. Use it as a preventive measure once a month if you want to stay on top of pest control.

  • Repotting: Syngoniums grow fairly quickly, so you may need to repot every 1-2 years. Use well-draining soil and a pot with good drainage.

  • Humidity: These plants love humidity! Aim for 60% or higher, but they can adapt to typical household humidity. Misting the leaves or placing your Syngonium near a humidifier can help it thrive in drier environments.

  • Pruning & Propagation: Trim back any leggy or unruly growth by cutting just above a leaf node. Syngoniums can get bushy with regular pruning. To propagate, take a stem cutting and root it in water or soil—this plant is an easy propagator and will reward you with new growth in no time!
