Care
Light
Xanthosoma prefer bright indirect light. Lower light will slow growth and weaker stems. More time should be given in between waterings in lower light conditions, in order to avoid potential root rot. This plant should not be placed in direct sun, as its leaves will burn.
Water
Xanthosoma prefer for the soil to completely dry between waterings, at which point the plant should be watered thoroughly and the foliage will look noticeably droopy when thirsty. Signs of overwatering include yellowing leaves and brown soft leaf tips. and root rot. Brown crispy leaf tips can indicate underwatering. We recommend fertilizing every month during spring through summer with a diluted general houseplant fertilizer.
Care
This is a low maintenance houseplant. Xanthosoma enjoy high humidity but will tolerate normal to low levels of humidity as well.
