Alocasia prefers moderate indirect light. We recommend keeping your Alocasia out of the bright direct sun, which can burn the foliage.
Water
Alocasias grow from an underground bulb-like structure called a rhizome. Overwatering is a special danger to Alocasia because if the rhizome rots the plant may not recover. However, if the plant loses its leaves, it may regrow new leaves as long as the rhizome is intact. Underwatering may result in a slightly wilted appearance, but the plant should recover quickly once watered. We advise to err on the side of underwatering this plant rather than overwatering it.
Care
Alocasia are generally an easy to care for plant. Alocasia prefer high humidity so the use of misting or a humidifier to increase humidity may benefit this plant. We recommend fertilizing every month during spring through summer with a diluted general houseplant fertilizer. Alocasias may produce offsets from the rhizome, which can be separated in order to propagate a new plant.
