Care
Light
The Money Tree prefers bright indirect light. In too little light, new stems will grow thin and weak and the plant will be more prone to root rot. Avoid placing the Money Tree in direct sun which may burn the leaves.
Water
The Money Tree is adapted to growing in wetlands in the wild, which means this is a plant that likes water and is resistant to overwatering. However, it is still important to make sure that the roots are not soaking in water or soggy soil for an extended period of time, or else root rot may occur. As a rule of thumb, allow the top inch or two of soil to dry in between waterings. Watch for leaves turning yellow as a sign of overwatering.
Care
This is an easy to care for plant that is easily adaptable to a range of conditions. It prefers high humidity but average household humidity will suffice. The Money Tree responds well to pruning, so if the top branches become unwieldy simply clip the stems once a year and another growth point will emerge. This plant will not propagate easily from stem cuttings. It can be fertilized monthly through the spring and summer with diluted general houseplant fertilizer.
