Care
Light
Ficus need bright indirect light for best growth. Too little light will result in thin, unhealthy new growth. However the white areas of variegated leaves are particularly vulnerable to damage, and direct sun should be avoided.
Water
Ficus Ruby enjoys frequent waterings but hates soggy soil, so the soil must always be allowed to dry out in between waterings. Its thick rubbery leaves allow Ficus Tineke to go some time without water, but drooping leaves and very dry soil are a sign that it should be watered.
Care
Ficus plants like consistency, so avoid repotting, moving, or otherwise disturbing the plant if possible. Once established, it will reward you with rapid and consistent growth. If desired, cut the top growth point to encourage branching and provide a bushier look. Average household humidity is a good fit for this plant. Fertilizing once or twice during the growing season. We recommend diluting fertilizer to half of the recommended amount for potted plants.
Purify
Based on a NASA® study, these are the known contaminants this plant will filter from your home's air.
Formaldehyde is found in OSB, plywood, MDF, and particle board. Formaldehyde can be found in furniture like desks, bookshelves, beds, kitchen cabinets, and more.
