Monstera Burle Marx Flame Care

Monstera Burle Marx Flame Care | Care Guide | Plant Proper

Watering:

Monstera enjoys being watered when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. If it’s thirsty, the leaves will droop, and if overwatered, you’ll notice yellowing leaves or even root rot. Water more frequently in brighter light, and less in lower light.

Light:

Monstera Burle Marx Flame thrives in bright, indirect light, but it can handle some direct morning sun. An east- or west-facing window is ideal, but be cautious of too much intense sunlight, which can burn its leaves. If you don’t have access, south or north facing windows. Low light will slow its growth and reduce its famous leaf splits.

General Care:

  • Fertilizing: Feed your Monstera every 4-6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted fertilizer.

  • Pest Control: Use neem oil or insecticidal soap if pests like spider mites or scale appear, but it’s only needed when you see pests.

  • Repotting: Repot every 2-3 years or when roots outgrow the pot. Use well-draining soil and a pot with drainage holes.

  • Humidity: Monsteras love humidity! Try to keep it at 60% or higher, but they can tolerate average household humidity.

  • Pruning & Propagation: Prune back overgrown stems just above a leaf node to control size and promote bushier growth. Propagate by taking a stem cutting with at least one node and rooting it in water or soil.
