Peperomia Ginny Care
Watering:
Peperomias prefer their soil to dry out almost completely between waterings. Water when the top 1-2 inches are dry. Underwatering leads to droopy, soft leaves, while overwatering causes yellowing and mushy stems.
Light:
Peperomia Ginny thrives in moderate to bright indirect light. An east- or west-facing window works well. If not accessible, a south-facing window will work too. They can tolerate lower light but might grow slower. Too much direct sunlight can burn their delicate leaves.Â
General Care:
-
Fertilizing: Feed every 6-8 weeks during the growing season with a diluted, balanced fertilizer.
-
Pest Control: Peperomias aren’t prone to pests, but if needed, neem oil or insecticidal soap will work. Only treat when you notice pests.
-
Repotting: Repot every 2-3 years or if the plant outgrows its pot. Use a well-draining, chunky soil mix.
-
Humidity: Peperomias are adaptable and can handle normal household humidity, but higher humidity will help them thrive.
-
Pruning & Propagation: Prune any leggy growth or dead leaves for a fuller plant. To propagate, take a leaf or stem cutting, place it in water or soil, and watch for new roots!
